Day 2

Well today was much harder. i am attempting the South Beach Diet and the first two weeks
(Phase 1) are a pain in the ass. Today is my first day of the diet because I didn't have any of the food really for it. I had ot go shopping today and was blessed by a stranger who insisted on paying for our groceries after finding out my husband and I were both military people and he was gone.

Breakfast:
So let's see. For breakfast I had turkey bacon, scrambled egg whites, a spoonful of peanut butter and a reduced fat string cheese (that Aden stole so I didn't have cheese). Plus 2 glasses of water.

Snack:
A handful of pecans, cashews, and almonds.

Lunch:
Turkey wraps: since I cannot have any bread of any kind, I took 6 slices of very thin turkey and split into two and put a touch of weight watchers cream cheese, mustard, and fresh spinach and rolled them up. Was not too bad but was really craving some carbs. Did cheat and have some more nuts but only because I did not have enough veggies for the veggie portion I was supposed to have.

After lunch we went to the store to buy some fresh veggies and other things I could eat. The store was crazy busy because of the weather finally being nice and it being a Saturday. We waited at the checkout for over 30 minutes. This is where I met the kind stranger who bought my groceries.

Dinner:
I had planned to make a nice dinner but two of the boys passed out and didn't want to wake up so it was just Chase and me. I was not that hungry so I snacked on cucumbers and was craving sweets. I decided I would make a dessert/breakfast recipe I read online called Mock Cinnabon.

Mock Cinnabon: 3/4 cup cottage cheese, 2 tsp of Splenda, cinnamon (to taste) topped with a few pecans. I warmed it in the microwave for about 20 seconds and it was delicious. That and two cups of my Tazo tea did the trick for satisfying my sweets craving.

Snack:
I snacked on cumumbers with Aden and Chase before bed too.

I did not follow the diet to a T today but now that I have all the groceries I plan to do better. I am still eating less and healthier so that is an improvement for me. I also drank only water so that is a huge thing for me. I just hope the craving for soda goes away soon.

Day 1

Well I officially weigh 160. That is crazy for me because I have never been big. Just never lost the baby weight after Aden was born. My BMI is 27 so I at least know now.

Well day 1 was not bad at all. I was so busy I barely had time to eat.
BReakfast:

  • Green Monster: (banana, almond milk, flax, mixed berries, spinach, and ice) The mixed berries actually made it turn brown so I had a brown monster more so than a green monster. Aden drank 3 sippies full of it also. LOL....needless to say he likes them.

For lunch I made homemade pizza
  • Homeade pizza: wheat tortillas, tomato paste, Italian and garlic seasoning, mozzarella cheese, and mushrooms. I also made a spinach salad with cucumbers and carrots topped with almonds and salad dressing.

For dinner I just had a ton of carrots because I was too busy to eat with all 3 boys here. I did not get to work out because we are still snowed in and I cannot find my workout DVD's still. I am looking at some treadmills on craigslist though so hopefully very soon I will have one of those.

Day 1 of New Me and the GOALS

So I had a pity party the other day because I am about to begin mine and Chris's third deployment where we spend about 8 months apart. It does not help that we have only seen each other about 3 times since last October due to me moving here from San Diego. But it was something we had to do for our future. So I have set many a goals for myself while he is gone and I think putting them on here will help so I can go back and keep track of them.

1. Get in shape. Want to lose some weight but I am more concerned with getting in shape than losing a weight. I do want to lose around 30 pounds and tone up. I have avoided most pictures since Aden was born because I am HUGE for me. I have not really had the opportunity to work out because Chris's long hours limited when I could work out. The stress of everything we have gone through with the military has not helped but I now am not letting any excuses get in the way. I was doing really great before I got too pregnant. I was running 2 miles a day about 5 days a week but that was so long ago. I have got to get back to that or at least close to that.
2. Eat healthy. I want to eat healthier. My family already teases me for eating healthy but I still do not eat as healthy as I could so I am going to work on that extremely hard.
3. Give up soda. I have been addicted to soda since I was a toddler. My grandma spoiled me and always bought it. I gave it up for a few years in college but came back to it. I really want to STOP because I worry about the damage it has caused to me already. I started off good today. All the pop left in the house I poured down the drain today.

I will probably add more to this but these are the major ones.
